How can I do Motion Photography with a Point & Shoot?

Cass asked:

For a class project I have to take 4 pictures using3 styles of motion photography:

stop motion
panning
subject blur

However, I have to use a point & shoot camera. I am having a very hard time with this. Any suggestions?
I only have a Point & Shoot and my teacher said we should be able to take these kind of pictures.

I don’t have the ability to change the aperture or shutter speed that is my problem here.

If your point and shoot has any way to manually adjust the settings, what you need to do is select a long exposure. If it doesn’t, you may just have to get a better camera.
