What’s is the best photography camera that is under $1000?
oopsgoesmeeh asked:
I saw the commercial for Nikon D40 and fell in love with it.
But my friend owns and recommended the Nikon D40 X.
I’ve looked up other cameras, and have yet to find a better one.
What’s a good website too look at photography cameras?
What tools are needed for photography?
Isn’t there a device that checks lighting or something?
Where can I learn more about photography?

go to yahoo shopping
digital cameras
digital camera GUIDE
be sure to check titles on the left side
the guide should answer your questions
Go to and compare the various dslr cameras side by side, there are quite a few entry level cameras, all quite good.
When you buy a dslr, like the Nikon D40 or the Canon XTi, you are buying into a system of cameras, lenses and accessories. You’ll want to think about what you want to get out of your camera, and the availablity of lenses for your particular subject.
After reading the reviews, go to a real camera store (not Best Buy or Wal Mart) and handle the different cameras, try them with various lenses, and buy the one which fits you best.
I’d suggest signing up for a photography class, at a nearby school or with a photo store. You can also go online to vaious sites, like Flickr, there are many groups there specific to beginner photography.
Also, the book “Understanding Exposure” by Bryan Peterson is the best tool for learning about exposure, and light.
I also just recently got into photography and like you the d40 really caught my eye. One thing you might want to keep in mind is that when you buy the camera there are also a lot of other things you would probably want/need with it. For me if I got the D40 I would get a higher power zoom lens for it. After handling the camera at a store and messing around with it for a little while, I felt the amount of zoom just wasn’t enough. So just keep in mind when your buying you’ll need at bare minimum an SD card to hold the pictures in and if you want more than that remember accessories, like a case, more memory, a tripod, filters, external flash, etc… start getting pricey really quick.
For good reading material remember to check local libraries. I went to the one at my school and they had about 40 different books on photography. The best part is they are free.
On the other hand I also picked up a book at a book store called “The Digital Photography Book; The step-by-step secrets for how to make your photos look like the pros’” by Scott Kelby. The book is pretty informative for someone just getting into photography.
The best of luck! Have fun!
Everyone is going to put out here favorite camera here but it all depends on what you like if your going to take quality pictures.
I myself love all the canon products and have been using them for years … professionally and non.
If you want to compare photos taken with different cameras online and find out what is most popular check out
it is going to have everything you are looking for when it comes to research with deciding what camera to buy.
i recommend you to take the canon EOS 450D it’s the best camera ever with 10.1 MP and take all kind of a canon lenses and it’s better than the Nikon D40X much better i used the Nikon and it was good but not good as the canon EOS 450D it’s great
Why not pick the Nikon D-200? It’s 10 Megapixels fully automatic (or manual) and takes great pics. Many retailers are advertising it for about $1,000. (body only). Do a Google search for 10 MP cameras with interchangeable lenses and you will find about 6-10 excellent models
