Do i really need a portfolio to get in a photography college like New England School Of Photography?
mita_mrls asked:
I would like to go to a college that offers photography as a major do i really need a portfolio?
It makes no sense having one when i know the skills i have aren’t good enough.Or any picture i take will work to get in the school? Im
planing to major in portraiture and wedding photography.Thank you

yes you still need a portfolio. You’ll not just need it for college, but for jobs in the future to, even if you are just going to do weddings etc.
You should definitely start a Portfolio. Some schools require it and some don’t. Some look at it for Scholarship opportunities. It all just depends, do a little more research on the school and find out. Start one now, because you’ll need it in the future. They want to see what skills you DO know. Sometimes if you submit a portfolio and you show that you know certain skills, you are exempt from taking a class that teaches the certain skill, that you clearly, understand and know how to use.
It will benefit everyone to create a Portfolio.
Good luck, I’m sure you’re going to do amazing things!
