I want a really good and detailed picture.
I have a Kodak — but it’s more for “family” photos.. etc. Nott for photography.

Both Nikon and Canon have entry level DSLR’s that are far less money than the pro versions
Nikon D40x and Canon Rebel XTi
Here is a link that shows all of them .. except the pro versions of the DSLR’s
Its not the camera…its the person behind it babe!
Heres my work….its done with a point and shoot camera (Canon A540) It cost (me new) $225. Also look in my profile on my flickr for a pic of the camera.
To be a Pro Photography, not only using DSLR or SLR cameras, you must have more experiences of Photography Techniques and with some B.A.Degrees in Photography of London and New York, which was Iike me,I didn’t attended any photography courses, could be able to pass two titles on the same year.
You can start with a good point and shoot camera like Danny’s. Because to be able to use a dslr properly, you need a basic knowledge in photography. And you can have it by studying basic photography, or learn from photographer, like apply to his or her assistant, since you are a girl you might as well find a lady photographer so that you’d feel comfortable working with her or being with her. The advantage of a good point and shoot camera is first it is cheaper or affordable, second it is handy, you can bring it almost anywhere, third you can shoot almost anything, without changing lenses. By the way take a look at the shots of pro photographers or other photography enthusiasts in Flicker, Multiply and other sites. Also join some photography forums like photography-on-the.net/forums to learn more about photography stuff like, composition, lighting, framing. And lastly, don’t forget to always charge the battery. Have fun!
The one that you’re most comfortable using. You can talk about cameras, and their features until you’re blue in the face. Ultimately, the camera is only as good as the photographer behind it.
