    Practice, Practice, Practice.

Shoot everything you possibly can. Push your self and your eye to see things in new ways. One of my fist photo assignments at University was to shoot 5 rolls of film of a single fire hydrant. It was to make you see things you normally would not. Try it.

Learn as much as you can about business and marketing. Most photography classes teach the art but forget about the business side. If you plan on making a career of it, you will find that a large portion of your time is in marketing yourself and taking care of the business. It is not just all shooting.

I started my business while in High School and thirty years later I still make my living from photography. It is hard work but worth it if you have a passion for it.

    Best of luck to you!!
